So, I haven't actually figured out how to make a guestbook without using a third party service and it sounds like more programming than basic html knowledge will allow. In the meantime, feel free to send me any comments, critiques, etc. through electronic mail. I also have a VOIP phoneline that you are welcome to leave a voicemail that I may or may not (probably won't) listen to later. (I don't actually have a physical telephone for said phoneline...)
