When we first moved into our house, our landlord was showing us things about the house and we asked him about this random 8 foot drawbridge door above our basement stairwell. He told us that there's a little storage closet inside that's maybe like a couple feet deep inside and slightly wider than the door. This house is like 100 years old and he thinks whoever put it in probably used it as like a gun safe or something. He told us that the door itself weighs like 60 pounds and that he was worried about a tenant accidentally hurting themself trying to open it and that there really isn't a good way to put a ladder there with the stairs, so he ended up putting a lock on it so no one would mess with it. We've been here like 5 years and have never seen the inside. What if the only reason we have lower rent than average around town is because he's hiding something horrible in there? He seems like a cool guy, though.
